This is definitely my favorites cologne in the Burberry line, followed closely by Burberry London. Created by Antoine Maisondieu in 2004 for the Burberry house this is a powdery yet fresh and spicy scent, excellent if you wear either casual clothes or an expensive suit.
The top of this cologne is composed mainly of a very clean citrus (mandarin), bergamot and ginger. The heart notes give the fragrance a very masculine touch of cedar and nutmeg with a little bit of wild rose. It ends with the heavier base notes of amber, patchouli and tonka bean.
Perfect to wear when you are not trying to stand out from the office crowd so very much suitable for the workplace. It smells very clean and sophisticated but it’s not only “mature gentleman cologne”, Burberry Brit can be easily worn by any age. It’s more of a winter scent for me as it would be a little too overpowering during the summer months when it’s more humid. But for the nights out with your family or friends during colder months that would be just perfect: very strong, long-lasting cologne giving you very fresh and clean feel. I think both younger and older men can’t go wrong with this one.
Young English actor Hugh Dancy (Galahad in King Arthur (2004) and Schmid in Black Hawk Down (2001)) is the face of this perfume and this only proofs that classy can be also casual. Some of my friends say it’s too conservative and only suitable for people over 30 but I think it’s never to early to be a true gentleman. Women love it :)
Overall, Burberry Brit is a very unique but at the same time simple fragrance. Refined, sensual, elegant and truly masculine cologne. Like an expensive tartan blanket keeping you warm and secure during winter months.
